Writing Update

Since I’ve been writing, I’ve been one hundred percent, laser focused on publishing/releasing a single story. Since 2019, the story has been slightly altered, rewritten, the story never seems finished once I have a draft. There is always another small detail we forgot which affects the book as a whole. This unneeded urgency to publish has been a problem. I put a deadline on myself for no reason. There is no rush to publish my book. It’s written, but it needs work.

For almost six years I feel I have been trying to get one idea into the world. Within those six years I have nothing to show for it. An entire unwritten timeline. Maps for realms that aren’t talked about in that first book. Characters who have been waiting around for their story to be written. Worst of all, my love for writing has been strained so badly. Editing is necessary, I know, but writing should not ONLY be editing. That is what the last five years have been. Editing. I’m bored and I’m done. I’m postponing the publication of The Wizards and The Princes.

Being that I’m postponing the publication, I’ll be more focused on making drafts and posting on here to hype up the first book. Who knows, maybe The Horse Merchant’s Daughters won’t be the first to be published. I’ll be working on maps and family trees and everything in between. The next post will be announcing the release of Petrif and Straval’s description. Perhaps overtime I’ll even release a few more short stories and introduce more major factors in the stories. -D. B.
