What Void Maddness is

Void Maddness is a book collection of series written by VMA (Void Maddness Authors). More than likely not like other series out there. Personally we aren’t sure if it sounds like other books.

I (D. B. Odd) started writing one of the first books that will be published: Book one of The Horse Merchant’s Daughters– “The Wizards & The Princes” when I was about thirteen years old. Growing up I loved playing barbies with my two brothers; who are my two co-authors. We never stopped coming up with ways to play, different worlds that our characters were in, or the people they could be. We played almost every way imaginable.

When I was thirteen I decided to write my stories down. What started out as an idea to write about Barbies instead of playing them, turned into a dream of becoming a real published author.

Book one as mentioned above is a personal version of the story of King Arthur. At the time, I’d never read the real story. I read fictional versions and mostly fell in love with the idea of Merlin. I don’t like reading him as an old wise man with a staff and blue robe. I held a very different opinion, turning him into a character for a book. His idea started when my siblings and I were playing legos. At the time my dolls were harder to move around. Merlin became my favorite lego character, he did so many things.

When the legos were also pretty hard to move around, I decided I’d write the story down instead. I’d make a story on paper about Merlin that no one could forget about. Which turned into a small world of writing, then a series, then I added more characters. At which point the characters I made for my barbies were very different from those of legos and I hated combining the two. Legos and barbies didn’t go together when I played with my siblings. But in the books, they certainly intertwine every once in a while.

After the first few months of writing, my brothers joined, and I decided we’d all be co-authors. I figured, playing barbies and legos was so easy, this would be too. Which is it when we all happen to agree. Which means lots of planning, arguing, writing, and long discussions.

For this large world we decided to make, we each have our own meaningful characters. Barbies – Roan has his doll, Hanzo. Tommy Dodd had Alistair and Dakota. I (D. B.) have Jason and Killian. Legos – well we had many more legos than dolls, that list is a lot longer. But all of those dolls and legos really did set off this entire idea of writing a book.
