On a whim I (D. B. Odd) decided to enter myself into a short story contest. It’s deadline was February 1st and I only heard about it a few days ago. YA fiction, 5k words. I couldn’t submit my work in progress – The Wizards & The Princes: Part 1 – but I could submit anything else. I figured very little is known currently about my collection and decided upon a short story based on the two most vital characters in the history of my fictional universe.

Petrif & Straval. Petrif, the goddess of magic and mother of the realms. Straval, the god of death and sacrifice. The short story, is a quick introduction into the creation of the universe. Future plans involve turning it into a novel. I certainly hope you enjoy it. I’ll be releasing detailed descriptions of both Petrif and Straval.
